Skeeter the Cyclops

Due to the rushed nature of my last three Whimsykins, I didn’t have time to come up with stories or even take very good pictures of them before I had to wrap them up as Christmas presents.   I apologize for that.  I hope you enjoy them anyway.

First up, I present Skeeter the Cyclops, my blitzkrieg Christmas Eve project for my only nephew Hayden on Christmas Day.  I put him entirely together within about two and a half hours.  I was proud of myself for that.

Handsome devil, isn't he?

If you recall, Hayden received my very first Whimsykin, Cheeky the Monkey, as a birthday present in October – as in “welcome to the world” birthday.  I wanted to make him something equally cool and brightly colored, as a bonus these feathery socks were also super soft.  His eye and mouth were made of felt and hand-embroidered on.  Of course, he also has a heart on his butt.  With the leftover fabric I had, I made him a little stocking cap.

And now he looks surprised.

He was a hit with Mom and Dad – I’m sure the little guy will latch on to him soon too.  And probably drool on him a lot.

Got anything to say? Go ahead and leave a comment!
