Crafty Christmas Tree Challenge #4 – The Unveiling
Well, my tree is up. I managed that much. Due to the family illness followed by the sudden rush of Madelynne wanting to show up four weeks early (she’s changed her mind now and is happily still baking in my tummy), I didn’t get any additional ornaments made except the foam letters. However, I’m still under the $20 budget even though my felt ornaments didn’t get made, so that makes me happy. The foam letters were $2 at Hyvee and the yarn was scrap.

The two chain garlands were just enough for my little tree, and the foam letters while stupidly simple are quite cute. Plus, I don’t have to worry about a certain curious little boy destroying them. He’s also more interested than all the stuffed critters around the bottom than the actual tree – especially (and unfortunately) the ones that make noise. Oh dear goodness.
So despite all my clever plans going awry, I think it turned out rather well. Now I have to finish four Whimsykins by next weekend.

Wow you really had a lot going on this month. I’m happy it sounds like you’re all healthier and that the little one is still baking away. The tree looks great!
I’ll be doing a roundup of everyone’s projects on my site today!
Thanks. Things got a little crazy at the beginning of December and I wished I had time to work on more projects. Oh well. There’s always next year, right?
I ran out of time and didn’t get a few projects done too. It just happens. It’s a crazy time of year to begin with and add in anything like what you went through and what can you do? Like you said there’s next year!
: )
But the tree really looks great and I bet your son loves it.
My little 2 year old nephew is totally into the tree. Loves to (un)decorate it!
