Catrina the Cat Ballerina
I finished up Catrina a long time ago, but didn’t her stuff posted before the great computer crash of 2011, so here’s some new pictures of her.
Catrina is a dancing cat. Ballet is her favorite kind of dance, and Swan Lake is her very favorite ballet. She spends most of her free time dancing, but she also likes to go out shopping with her friends for the latest makeup trends and leg warmers. She enjoys chamomile tea, staying in bed to read on rainy days, and catching the first snowflakes of winter on her tongue.
Black leg warmers are slimming.
Catrina was made from a pair of black and rather wildly striped knee socks using the standard sock monkey design. She has two green button eyes that don’t match, a felt bejeweled tiara, and an amazing white tutu made from tulle and some ribbon. Her face and heart are hand-embroidered. Her leg warmers came from the bands of the knee socks. As usual, entirely sewn and stuffed by hand and with love. She’s going to my oldest niece Ashley for Christmas.
